Sam Heredia

Director & Violin/Viola Instructor

Sam Heredia is a professor, researcher, and orchestra director with over 20 years of experience in string education. He served as Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (2004–2012) and completed advanced studies at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. As founder and director of McAllen String Academy and the Increscendo Orchestra, Sam has trained over 500 students, many of whom now play professionally in orchestras in Mexico and the United States. He is also the author of Viol Consort by Sam Heredia, a method for the initiation of strings and string orchestra for children.

SARAH TORRES

Violin Instructor & Montessori-Trained Educator

Sarah Torres holds a Master's degree in Violin Performance from UTRGV and is Montessori-trained, bringing a student-centered approach that connects naturally with homeschool families. She began her formal studies at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, where she studied under renowned soloist Samuel González and Symphony Director Juan Maldonado. Sarah has trained with internationally acclaimed teachers including Agnieszka Maklakiewicz, Arturo Romero, and Israel Capilla. As an active orchestral musician, she has performed alongside world-renowned artists including Plácido Domingo with the Symphony Orchestra of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas.
